- Leads in planning, coordinating and monitoring of all disaster preparedness efforts and the prepositioning of relief goods to disaster affected regions.
- Conduct capacity building for the DSWD and LGU staff. The Division is composed of:
- Relief Commodity Prepositioning and Stockpiling; and
- Capacity Building on Disaster Preparedness.
Specific Functions
- DRRM policies and Development of the National Disaster Response Plan and guidelines;
- Vulnerability Assessment/Analysis & Mapping (VAM)
- Policy development/enhancement on DRP plan, program and project standard setting;
- Annual Work and Financial Planning;
- Coordination with NDRRMC’s Mitigation and Preparedness Pillars and its clusters;
- DRRM capacity building of DSWD CO & FOs, LGUs and partners;
- Pre-disaster damage risk assessment (PORA);
- Monitor the status of the Quick Response Fund (QRF)/standby funds in the regions and ensure food and non-food items will be procured in advance;
